🌍 Cultural Authenticity: Traditionally, names are given a day name based on the day of the week a person was born, and a birth order name reflecting their position among the children their mother has given birth to — honoring the Akan’s matrilineal heritage. In addition, names may be given that describe the circumstances of a person's birth or traits the family hopes they will embody.

My wife and I along with 21 others were welcomed to Ghana by the adinKra group. It was 7 nights and 8 days experience. We were treated to all of the cultural, spiritual and often emotional elements of this great country. Our hosts served as geographic experts, security, counselors and friends. The trip was AWSOME and perfectly planned. Of course, there were a few snags, but it was all made good by the first-class professional treatment we received for our hosts. The Adinkra hosts, Kofi, Usef, Joyce and Pearl allowed everyone to feel seen, cared for and welcomed to Ghana. Our trip was perfectly planned and hosted from our arrival to and departure from Accra. I have been following Diallo and Birthright for so many years, so my expectations were super high! And I was not disappointed at all! Everything was excellent - transportation, accommodations, tours and genuine relationships! The staff is phenomenal!! The organization was timely and relaxing at the same time. I never felt rushed or felt like I was 'waiting to start'. It was just so wonderful! i have been to Ghana several times and have toured before, but I saw and experienced things on this journey that I'd not experienced or seen before. I am already thinking of the next trip!

We had an amazing experience during our Birthright Journey to Ghana with Cheryl Abel Jones with the Adinkra Group!! The amazing guide (Enoch) and driver (Issac) helped make our experience more enjoyable. We hope that we were as entertaining for them. The sites we saw were educational and emotional all rolled up into one. Everything about this journey was profound and unforgettable from city life to village life. We left Ghana feeling enlightened by its history, culture and norms. The food was especially good!
