Black Star Square (10:00 am):

Christiansburg Castle Visit (11:00 am):

Lunch at a Local Restaurant: (included)

After a morning of sightseeing, enjoy a delicious lunch at a local restaurant. Savor traditional Ghanaian dishes and immerse yourself in the vibrant flavors of the cuisine.

Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum (2:00 pm):

Visit the final resting place of Ghana's first President, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah. The mausoleum and surrounding memorial park offer a poignant tribute to his contributions to Ghana's independence and development.

Arts Center Shopping Visit (3:30 pm):

Unleash your inner shopaholic at the Arts Center, where you'll find a bustling marketplace filled with local crafts, textiles, and souvenirs. This is the perfect opportunity to pick up unique gifts and mementos of your trip.

Return to Hotel (5:00 pm):

After a day filled with discovery, head back to the hotel to freshen up and relax. You deserve some downtime before the evening's festivities.

We will return to the hotel for you to clean up and change for the full group's welcome dinner.  We will depart the hotel by 7:30 pm.

Welcome Dinner at Sandbox Beach Club (8:00 pm):

End your day with a memorable welcome dinner at the Sandbox Beach Club. Enjoy delectable dishes, refreshing drinks, and the soothing sounds of the ocean as you dine under the stars. Celebrate the start of your incredible journey in Ghana with your fellow alumni.

Moderate:  Expect a moderate amount of walking. There will be time to rest on the coach and between attractions. To enjoy this tour, you should be prepared to walk slightly longer distances, climb stairs and tolerate periods of standing. There may be some changes in altitude or temperatures.

Kickstart your day with a hearty early breakfast at the hotel. Savor the diverse selection of dishes and fuel up for the adventures ahead.  Today, you are heading to Ghana's Eastern Region (about 1.5 hours from Accra).  We will depart by 8:30 am.

Aburi Botanical Gardens and Craft Market 9:30 am):

For your first stop, embark on a scenic journey to the enchanting Aburi Botanical Gardens. Wander through the lush greenery and marvel at the diverse plant species. Don't forget to visit the nearby craft market, where you can discover beautiful handmade crafts and souvenirs.

Nyame Bekyere - God Will Provide (12:30 pm):

From Aburi, we head to the village of Nyame Bekyere - meaning God will provide. Nyame Bekyere is also the home of your host, Diallo Sumbry, where he serves as Nkosuohene (Chief of Development).  You will have an opportunity to engage with the citizens, see some of our development projects, and enjoy time in a farming community.

Curated Traditional Welcome & Greeting of Community Elders and Chiefs:

Experience the rich culture of Ghana with a curated traditional welcome. You'll be greeted by community elders and chiefs, who will share their wisdom and stories, making you feel truly honored and connected to the local heritage.

Village Adoption and  Naming Ceremony:

Immerse yourself in a traditional naming ceremony, a profound and meaningful experience. Receive your Ghanaian name, symbolizing your bond with the land and its people. It's a unique and unforgettable moment that will stay with you forever.

Lunch (Prepared Traditionally):

Indulge in a delicious lunch prepared using traditional methods. Savor the authentic flavors of Ghanaian cuisine, made with love and care by local chefs. It's a feast for the senses!

Return to Hotel for Refresh (5:00 pm):

After a day of cultural immersion, head back to the hotel to relax and freshen up. Take some time to unwind and reflect on the day's experiences.

Group Dinner at Local Restaurant (8:30 pm):

Gather with your fellow alumni for a group dinner at a local restaurant. Enjoy a delightful meal featuring a variety of local dishes, and toast to the incredible journey you're all on. Share stories, laughter, and create lasting memories together.

To fully take advantage of all this tour has to offer, guests need to be able to walk longer distances, climb several flights of stairs and navigate steps and uneven terrain walking for extended periods of time over more difficult terrain (e.g. cobblestones, city hills, stairs without handrails, limited or no access to elevators).

Transit to Airport:

The day starts very early so grab breakfast between 6:30 and 7:30 am so we can head to the airport for a short 45-minute flight to Kumasi. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the aerial views of Ghana's beautiful landscapes.

We will arrive in Kumasi around 10:00 am and transit to our sites via bus. Note that timeliness will be quite important today as we will be flying round trip to Kumasi.

Bonwire Kente Village (11:00 am):

Upon arrival in Kumasi, our first stop is the Bonwire Kente Village, where you’ll witness the intricate art of Kente weaving. Learn about the history and significance of Kente cloth, and perhaps even try your hand at weaving a piece of your own!

Ntonso Adinkra Stamping Village (12:30 pm):

Next, we visit the Ntonso Adinkra Stamping Village. Here, you’ll discover the rich tradition of Adinkra symbols and their meanings. Participate in a hands-on workshop where you can create your own unique Adinkra cloth to take home as a cherished souvenir.

Lunch:

After a morning full of cultural immersion, we'll enjoy a delightful lunch featuring local cuisine. Savor the authentic flavors of Kumasi as we recharge for the afternoon's activities.

Manhyia Palace Ashanti History Museum (3:30 pm):

In the afternoon, we'll explore the Manhyia Palace, home to the Ashanti King. The museum offers a fascinating glimpse into the history and heritage of the Ashanti Kingdom. Marvel at the royal artifacts, learn about the Ashanti monarchy, and gain a deeper understanding of this proud and influential culture.

Shopping at the Cultural Center (5:00 pm):

Before we head back to Accra, we'll visit the Kumasi Cultural Center, a bustling hub of local crafts and artistry. Browse through a vibrant array of handmade goods, from intricate beadwork to beautiful pottery. This is the perfect opportunity to pick up unique gifts and mementos.

Transit to Airport:

We'll then make our way back to the airport for our 7:00 pm return flight to Accra. Reflect on the day's enriching experiences as we journey back to the capital city.

Return to Hotel:

Upon arrival in Accra, head back to the hotel to freshen up and relax. Take some time to unwind before dinner.

Dinner at Hotel Restaurant:

End your day with a delightful dinner at the hotel restaurant. Enjoy a variety of delectable dishes, reflecting the diverse culinary heritage of Ghana. Share your favorite moments from the day with your fellow travelers and toast to another incredible day in Ghana.

• Swimming Pool: Dive into the refreshing waters of the pool and enjoy a leisurely swim.
• Water Sports: Thrill-seekers can indulge in various water sports like jet skiing, kayaking, and paddleboarding.
• Boat Ride: Take a scenic boat ride along the Volta River and soak in the stunning views.
• Games: Participate in fun beach games and activities, or simply relax by the water.

Lunch & Dinner Buffet:

Return to Accra (7:30 pm):

As the sun sets, we'll head back to Accra. Reflect on the day's adventures and the memories made with your fellow travelers.

Relaxed: Tour members should expect intermittent walking, with occasional slight inclines and stair climbs, including boarding the motorcoach. Guests should be able to climb a set of stairs, walk up or down slight slopes and navigate some uneven terrain or cobblestone.

Today, you have the freedom to either relax and savor the moment or embark on one of our thrilling optional excursions. Here are your options:

1. ATV Trail & Aburi Botanical Gardens (9:00 am departure; 2:00 pm return):

Rev up for an exhilarating ATV trail ride through the lush landscapes leading to the serene Aburi Botanical Gardens. Feel the thrill of adventure as you navigate winding paths and immerse yourself in the natural beauty of the gardens. It's the perfect blend of excitement and tranquility.

2. Cooking Class (9:00 am departure; 4:00 pm return):

Become a culinary master with a traditional Ghanaian cooking class. Learn how to prepare iconic dishes like jollof rice, waakye, and kelewele. This interactive experience will not only satisfy your taste buds but also give you culinary skills to impress back home.

No matter what you choose, today is all about embracing the spirit of adventure or simply taking a moment to breathe and appreciate the journey. 

You will also have plenty of time to gather your belongings in preparation to check out of your hotel in Accra.  Please ensure you pack your white clothing in a carry-on bag, along with clothing for the next two days.  This will make your life easier as we are on the road in the Central Region.

Begin your day with a peaceful and hearty breakfast at the hotel. Enjoy the variety of delicious options as you prepare for a day filled with deep emotional and spiritual experiences.  We will then check and depart for the Central region by 7:30 am.

Travel to Assin Manso for Overnight Trip:

We'll set out on a 3.5 to 4-hour drive to Assin Manso. Relax and take in the changing landscapes as we journey to this significant historical site. There's no need to check out of your Accra hotel – your room will be waiting for your return.

Last Bath/First Bath of Return Experience (10:30 am):

Upon arrival at Assin Manso, we'll participate in the Last Bath/First Bath of Return Experience. This sacred ritual symbolizes the cleansing and rebirth of our spirits, connecting us to our ancestors who once walked these very paths.

Lunch at a Local Restaurant:

After Assin Manso, we'll enjoy lunch at Oasis Beach Resort. Savor the flavors of Ghanaian cuisine and reflect on the powerful experience of the morning.

Cape Coast Castle Dungeon Visit:

In the afternoon, we'll visit the Cape Coast Castle, a solemn and historic site. Walk through the dungeons where our ancestors were once held captive and feel the weight of their strength and endurance.

Check-In Hotel & Dinner:

After an emotionally enriching day, we'll check into our hotel for the next two nights. Enjoy a relaxing dinner at the hotel restaurant, sharing your thoughts and experiences with your fellow travelers.

Lunch:

After a morning of exploring the wonders of the rainforest, we'll enjoy a delightful lunch. Savor the local flavors and recharge for the afternoon's activities.

Mingle with Cape Coast/Elmina Community and Explore Nightlife:

In the afternoon, we'll immerse ourselves in the vibrant life of the Cape Coast and Elmina communities. Engage with locals, learn about their customs, and share in their stories. As the sun sets, we'll dive into the local nightlife, experiencing the lively atmosphere, music, and dance that define Ghanaian culture. Enjoy the rhythm of the night and create unforgettable memories with your fellow travelers.

In the evening, prepare yourself to check out in the morning as we continue our travels throughout Ghana.

Community Service Activity in Winneba & Lunch (10:00 am):

En route to Accra, we'll make a special stop in Winneba for a community service activity. Roll up your sleeves and join hands with local residents to make a positive impact. Whether it's participating in a community clean-up, helping at a local school, or engaging in other meaningful projects, your efforts will leave a lasting impression.

After the activity, we'll enjoy a hearty lunch with the community. Share stories, laughter, and delicious food as we connect with the wonderful people of Winneba.

Continue Onward to Accra + Hotel Check in (2:00 pm):

We will ride back to Accra, enjoying the sights and reflecting on the day.

Our last day starts with a relaxed breakfast at the hotel—one last chance to enjoy a warm cup of Ghanaian cocoa or a perfectly fried kelewele before we pack up and check out.  

If you are leaving on an early morning flight, we suggest grabbing breakfast to go (simply request from the hotel staff) before heading to the airport.

Before you take off, savor the last bits of Ghanaian sunshine, snap those final selfies, or simply reflect on the unforgettable journey we’ve shared.

Finally, it’s time to head to the airport. As we make our way through the city one last time, we carry with us more than just souvenirs—we leave with new perspectives, deeper connections, and a piece of Ghana forever in our hearts.
